British prosecutors arrested Thursday and charged Chris Brown, the R&B singer, serious bodily lesions and hold it in detention.
Brown, 36, was charged with an assault that would have taken place in a place to Hanover Square in London, on February 19, 2023, according to metropolitan police. He remains in detention and will appear at the Manchester Court of First Instance at 10 am on Friday, police announced.
A press release from prosecutors gave no other details. Under British law, the media is not allowed to publish the details of an incident that could harm any trial once someone has been charged.
“It is extremely important that there is no report, comments or online information sharing which could in any way prejudge these procedures,” said the accusation service.
A lawyer and a talent agency that represents Brown did not immediately respond to emails and calls asking for comments on Thursday evening.
Brown is known for his impeccable dance skills, his sensual love songs and his catchy hooks that landed at him 17 strokes of the Billboard top 10. Most of them were published between 2005 and 2015.
