Chinese vice president meets Elon Musk ahead of Trump inauguration

BEIJING (Reuters) – Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk and other members of the U.S. business community in Washington DC on Sunday, the official Xinhua News Agency reported on Monday.

Han told Musk that he “welcomes Tesla and other American companies to seize opportunities and share the benefits of China’s development, and contribute to the growth of China-US economic and trade relations,” the statement said. report.

US President-elect Donald Trump invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend the inauguration after winning last year’s presidential election. Xi sent Han in his place.
