Chinese port rocked by explosion of huge container ship

Surveillance footage has captured the moment a massive explosion on a cargo ship rocked one of China’s busiest ports.

Chinese state media said the shockwaves were felt up to a kilometer from the Ningbo-Zhoushan port, south of Shanghai.

Rescue officials said no casualties had been reported on board the vessel, which they said was owned by Taiwanese container shipping company Yang Ming Marine Transport.

The Zhejiang Provincial Emergency Management Administration said the ship was carrying hazardous materials, but did not specify what they were.
