China to launch anti-dumping investigation into Canadian chemicals

Imports of canola and rapeseed will also be affected, the latter being a major Canadian export to China. China’s retaliatory move comes after the Canadian government announced last week that it would impose 100% tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles. It also decided to impose an additional 25% tariff on certain aluminum products from China, effective October 15.

China warned that this decision would have “a very negative impact” and it started by doing so as indicated above. Nothing really surprising.
