The Cybertruck has become a bond of public opinion on Elon Musk and Doge, a 4 -wheeled emblem of our divided country. Cybertrucks are vandalized and conductors are reversed. The owners who thought it was a cool car are stuck to make a kind of political declaration – whether or not they wanted it.
For children, this is another story. Children love Cybertrucks.
It makes sense. First of all, children love trucks! For a preschool child, going through an active construction site is like being a VIP in Coachella.
The cybertruck is large, it’s distinctive. It’s rare. Seeing one on the road or even in a parking lot is a shoot. It looks like it was made in Minecraft or from Legos. It is absolutely exciting aesthetic for a demography that cannot yet link shoes.
“My 6 year old child loves Teslas but has no idea who is Musk, and it is intentional,” said Mandy Shobar, parent of two boys in Castro Valley, California. Shobar herself is not a fan of the CEO of Tela for reasons that would make sense for other adults but not a kindergarten. His eldest son, 9, is less enthusiastic about Cybertruck. “He says they look” Glitchy. “”
Around the Business initiate office, the parents also noted that their children were obsessed with the Cybertrucks. My boss’s first student recently brought back a work of art from the school dedicated to the EV.

My own children are excited when they see a cybertruck. My son crossed a phase where he was about 6 or 7 years old when he was fascinated by Elon Musk as a character, and even brought a book to the school library about Teslas. (The book, from 2018, did not include too much on Musk itself.)
Imagine this through the eyes of a child: Elon Musk is the richest man in the world who makes rockets and cars with cool. How could you not be intrigued? Children are obsessed with superlatives: the fastest, the largest, the most. This is why everyone knows that the blue whale is the largest, and the cheetah is the fastest. Children talk about the speed of Usain Bolt with reverence and compare the heights in Burj Khalifa (which, to be honest, only learned that the largest building in the world of my own child).
Elon Musk becomes less popular with adults
Meanwhile, the idea that Musk is controversial because of his political opinions and his role in Doge is not really something that is easily explained to a small child.
Musk seemed not too many years ago that it seemed to be a figuine -free ambiguous STEM figure for young children. But with its involvement in the 2024 elections and now DOGE, the perception that the public has changed. According to The Silver Bulletin by Nate Silver, Musk’s favorable survey went from positive to negative last summer, and it is now less popular than ever – with 53.5% of “unfavorable” notes.
Tom Cook (no relationship with Tim) is not a hateful Tela – he previously owned a model 3. He thinks that the cybertruck, however, is aesthetically unpleasant. “There are technical aspects that are good (electrical components where Tesla has a good engineering), but the cost / practicality / look / association link with (musk) simply makes it impossible to take seriously,” Cook told Business Insider.
However, he was surprised when his 3 -year -old daughter did a work of Cybertruck art.

There is a world of Cybertruck paraphrenia for children. Mattel’s Hot Wheels makes a classic pocket cybertruck (my children have one) and a larger flower cybertruck for around $ 20.
On Amazon and other online stores, you can find a variety of other cyber-cybertruck toys remotely from various nameless brands. (It is not clear if some of them really have license agreements with Tesla as Mattel.)
Tesla sells a $ 1,500 battery cybertruck for children, similar to electric wheels. He can adapt to two children, suggested from 6 to 12 years old. Telsa also makes a “cyberquad” for children from 9 to 12 years old, which is a mountain bike -style toy, selling for $ 1,650.

There is even a world of media on cybertrucks for children. A person told me that his kid in love with a 5 -year -old truck had discovered a song on Youtube children whom he plays in rehearsal. (I dare someone to try not to type your toes to this banger.)
There are non-fiction books for children on the Cybertruck, a bit like that of Tela that my son brought home.
There is also a picture book, The Ugly Truckling: The Story of My Cybertruck. “Amazon’s summary reads as follows:
When a father brings a cybertruck home, his daughter is far from being impressed. With its unconventional and futuristic appearance, the truck seems to be a ugly from Caneton in a world of familiar cars. But while the little girl is starting to learn more about the capabilities of the Cybertruck and its potential to help the world, it begins to see it in a whole new light.

For parents who find that the Cybertruck is a totem of something with which they do not agree, it can be slightly shocking to see their children cry with Glee when they see a navigating in the street.
But there are many things that children like that can make parents cringe: apple juice at room temperature, “baby shark”, the idea that we ask to put shoes and sets in time is an affront to human dignity.
None of the parents I heard who do not always share the same opinions on the Cybertruck puts too much concern. For them, it is a funny passage phase that reminded them of the vast gulf between the way a child sees the world and how we see it.
Admittedly, I spend a large part of my day thinking of Elon Musk, and I would like I can have the free wonder to see a car in the cool air and say “Wow!”
