Child hospitalized after being pulled from pool in Northbrook – NBC Chicago

A young child has been hospitalized after nearly drowning in a backyard swimming pool on Sunday in the suburb of Northbrook, authorities say.

At approximately 4:35 p.m., Northbrook police and firefighters were called to the 3500 block of Dauphine Avenue to an unconscious child found in an in-ground swimming pool, police said in a statement. Rescue measures were taken at the scene and the child was taken to a local hospital in serious condition, authorities said.

Police did not provide further details of the incident and are continuing to investigate.
