Chiefs-Texans final injury report: Jaylen Watson is questionable

Every day of practice this season, the Kansas City Chiefs issue an official injury report before the next game. On Saturday, the Chiefs will host the Houston Texans for a divisional game at 3:30 p.m. Arrowhead Time.

• Kansas City’s injury report was consistent all week, with wide receiver Mecole Hardman (knee) the team’s only player. limit participant. On Thursday, the Chiefs officially listed Hardman as doubtful for the game.
• Hardman remains on the Reserve/Injured list, as does cornerback Jaylen Watson (ankle). Watson is officially questionable for the game, but head coach Andy Reid showed some optimism in his comments.
• Reid: “Well, he’s worked tremendously hard to get to this point – first of all – and we’ll just see how it goes as far as in-game reps and all that. He’s certainly worked hard to get to this point.
• To play, Watson would first have to be activated to the 53-man roster, which is scheduled to happen Friday at 3 p.m. Arrowhead time.
• Quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle), defensive tackle Chris Jones (calf), left tackle DJ Humphries and defensive back Chamarri Conner (shoulder) are all good to go for the game.
• The Texans have four players listed as questionable: linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair (knee), receiver Robert Woods (hip), running back Joe Mixon (ankle) and tight end Teagan Quitoriano (calf).
• Al-Shaair was limit Wednesday and Thursday after missing Tuesday’s practice. A key player for Houston, Al-Shaair missed the Week 16 game against Kansas City as he served a three-game suspension for an illegal hit on Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
• Mixon is worth keeping an eye on, as he was a midweek addition to the injury report. He did not practice Friday.
• Earlier in the week, right guard Shaq Mason (knee) was not expected to play, but after splitting reps with Juice Scruggs (ankle) all week, both are good to go for the game. Mason hasn’t played a single game since Week 16, the Texans’ last game against the Chiefs.
