Washington (AP) – The head of the special advisers office, a federal agency looking to protect the reproductors, continued President Donald Trump on Monday, saying that he was illegally dismissed in the massive overhaul of the President of the Government .
Hampton Dellinger was informed of his dismissal in an email Friday evening of the Director of Staff of the White House, who said that he was writing on behalf of the president. Its dismissal comes as the republican administration of Trump tests the limits of well -established protections according to the public service by moving to dismantle federal agencies and pushing the staff members
Dellinger notes in his trial, filed with the Washington Federal Court, that special councils can be withdrawn by the president “only for ineffectiveness, negligence of duty or embezzlement in office”.
“The alleged dismissal by the president of the Special Council Dellinger is illegal,” said the trial. “It has no basis in fact and cannot therefore be square with the statutory text. And it is in direct conflict with almost a century of preceding which defines the standard for the elimination of independent officials of the agency and maintains the legality of practically identical withdrawal protections for independent agency heads. »»
The special council office is responsible for enforcing several laws related to federal employees, notably the Hatch Act, which restricts the partisan political activities of civil servants. It is a separate independent agency and outside the special advice from the Ministry of Justice which are appointed by the Attorney General for specific surveys, such as Jack Smith.
