Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry unexpectedly closed Wednesday for maintenance – NBC Chicago

As spring break continues at some Illinois schools, a popular Chicago museum announced it will be closed Wednesday for “unscheduled museum maintenance.”

“The MSI will be closed on Wednesday, April 3 for unscheduled museum maintenance,” said an article published on the Museum of Science and Industry website on Wednesday. “Those who purchased tickets in advance will receive a refund or can call (773) 684-1414 to rebook their reservation.”

The message adds that the museum is expected to reopen on Thursday with “normal opening hours.”

According to the website, MSI had been operating on extended “spring break hours” since Monday through Thursday, opening at 9:30 a.m. and closing at 5:30 p.m. Normal museum hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. are expected to resume Monday, April 8, the website indicates.

On April 21, the museum will host a free admission day for Illinois residents.
