CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police are investigating after a man was shot in the throat Sunday morning.

The shooting happened around 5:50 a.m. in the 1700 block of West Albion Avenue, according to police.
A 26-year-old man was outside when police said he was shot in the throat, police said.

Chicago police said the shooter fled the scene. It was not immediately clear how many people were involved in the shooting.
The 26-year-old man was rushed to St. Francis Hospital in critical condition, police said.
No one is in custody.
