Chicago Police Department detectives are asking for help identifying two people wanted for an armed robbery and stabbing on a CTA Red Line train in the Loop, authorities say.

Police on Sunday distributed photos of a man and women suspected of an armed robbery in the early morning hours of July 18. According to a CPD Community Alert, at around 2 a.m. the two offenders approached a passenger on a CTA Red Line train near Monroe Station. , 26 S. State St., and took possession of the victim’s purse.

The victim then approached the attackers, at which point one of the suspects held up a knife and stabbed another passenger who was assisting the victim, police said. The male suspect is believed to be between 18 and 25 years old and between 5ft 7in and 5ft 9in tall. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants and dark shoes, police said.
