Cheryl Hines Brutally Trolled After RFK Jr. Endorses Trump

Limit your enthusiasm Star Cheryl Hines came under further criticism for her husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s decisions Friday, after Kennedy withdrew from the presidential race and endorsed Donald Trump.

But her husband has a very different view of the former president, whom he has endorsed over Trump while blaming the media for his failure to gain traction in the race for the White House.

After announcing the news, Hines took to X/Twitter to express her “heartfelt” thanks to everyone who “tirelessly and lovingly participated in her campaign” – and X users are taking the opportunity to troll her over her husband’s decision.

While some mocked Hines’ choice of words in her message (a typo caused her to say that her husband’s “presidency” was suspended, instead of his “campaign”), some mocked RFK Jr.’s admission of having a brain worm, while others urged her to denounce Trump: “Do better.”

Being married to RFK Jr. must be difficult in public, as Hines — who has had to speak out against his statements in the past — is continually questioned about her responses to his often controversial positions.

Hines has tried to distance herself from his wilder views before, including claims that “chemical exposures” lead to transgender children or that Wi-Fi causes a “leaky brain.” But the only one she’s specifically addressed was in 2022, when he invoked Anne Frank to imply that Jews had more freedoms during the Holocaust than unvaccinated Americans. She took to Twitter to denounce that position, tweeting and then deleting: “My husband’s reference to Anne Frank at a mandate rally in DC was reprehensible and insensitive. His views do not reflect my own.”

She nevertheless left this tweet: “My husband’s opinions do not reflect my own. Although we love each other, we differ on many current issues.”

As for Trump, Hines previously used words like “ridiculous and disrespectful” to describe him when he was running for president in 2016, but has since cooled off toward him, she said. The Hollywood Reporter:”I had to have a long conversation with myself because I said to myself: ‘I will not survive these four years (of Trump in the White House)’.”

Now that Kennedy has used what little political influence he has to endorse Trump, which some believe could give Trump the little boost he needs over Harris in some states, people are once again mocking the actress in hopes that she will distance herself from him again.

Hines told Bravo host Andy Cohen earlier this year that she handles their political differences at home by simply saying, “I disagree with you.” And then we have a conversation. While that conversation must be awkward at times, Hines has never shown any signs that it could be a serious problem for the couple’s relationship, despite speculation on social media that she needs to “write up divorce papers.”

Hines is no stranger to detractors by now—after all, even her TV husband, Larry David, told her it would “never work” between them—and she has shown an ability to “cut through” some of his pseudoscientific claims. When he promoted vaccine misinformation, Hines avoided condemning his comments: “If Bobby stands up and says, ‘Are we sure they’re safe and all the vaccines have been tested properly?’” she explained, “that seems like the right question to ask.”

In January of this year, the couple acknowledged that Kennedy’s policies could make things at least a little difficult at home. Variety “I don’t think my marriage would survive that,” Kennedy said. “I think he’s right,” Hines added.

With Kennedy reportedly eyeing a position in Trump’s cabinet, the couple may have to have more serious conversations very soon.
