Chelsea rekindled their interest in the defender of Barcelona Jules Kounde, while they had an eye on the Bournemouth star in request for Bournemouth, Dean Huijsen, according to a report.
The Blues have invested millions in their team since the takeover of Boehly-Clearlake in 2022, but the defensive reinforcements remain of capital importance.
The club was linked to a number of central defenders in recent windows, notably Huijsen which aroused the interest of the best European clubs after its superb campaign with the Cherries.
According to Sport, Chelsea is ready to return to Kounde, which they tried to sign in 2022 from Seville before finishing a move of 46 million pounds Sterling in Barcelona.
The report says the club is particularly eager to add a defender capable of providing full back cover. The Frenchman was almost exclusively used in this position for the Giants of Laliga.
Its redeployment on the side is first noted under the former manager of Barça Xavi, but the current head coach Hansi Flick continued to align the 26-year-old at the rear right.
