The Dutchman, which has been a key element in the Liverpool bottom line since 2018, has since entered the twilight of his career and the signing of Huijsen is considered a potential long -term replacement.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s first choice partnership by Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill looks good on paper, but the two stars have been prey to injuries in recent years.

Huijsen de Bournemouth was born in Amsterdam to Dutch parents but acquired Spanish citizenship in February 2024 after having moved to Marbella at the age of five, progressing in the Malaga youth team.
Although he played for the Netherlands at various international levels of youth, Huijsen chose to play for Spain at the senior level, making his debut against his country of birth in the UEFA Nations League in March.
The 19 -year -old made 23 appearances in the Cherry League in this campaign, scoring two goals along the way.
