Enzo Fernandez scored his fifth goal in the first league of the season to give Chelsea a narrow 1-0 victory against the Rivaux of London Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening.
The 50th minute header of the Argentinian restored Place de Chelsea inside the top four of the Premier League, moving in front of the Manchester City reign champions, which won 2-0 against Leicester on Wednesday.
Moises Caicedo thought he had doubled the Chelsea’s advance in sensational fashion in the middle of the second half, but its superb volley was triggered following a long Var review after Levi Colwill turned out to be in an offside position.
The replacement of the Spurs, Pape Matar Sarr, also found the back of Robert Sanchez with a remote speculative strike, but the referee Craig Pawson penalized the midfield for a fault on Caicedo after a second overview of the incident on the pitch monitor.
Tottenham remained rooted in 14th place after the disappointing defeat at Stamford Bridge, three points behind Manchester United above them.
Aadam Patel of Mail Sport was in Stamford Bridge at night to assess players’ performance in the London derby.

The blues have recovered their position in the top four of the Premier League with the home victory
It was another disappointing night for Angel Postocoglou while Tottenham remained rooted in 14th
Chélat (4-2-3-1)
Robert Sanchez 6
Was spared by his blushes when Pope Sarr’s goal was controversial. The most relieved man inside Stamford Bridge. Then made a superb backup late to refuse the son.
Malo Gusto 7.5
Preferred before Reece James and was brilliant, keeping the silent son for most of the evening. To also score, but his efforts had entered the side coast.
Trevoh Chalobah 6.5
Has played a long shiny ball to Nicolas Jackson in the first minute and was solid on the defensive, but survived a handball cry in the second half.
Levi Colwill 6.5
Well done alongside Chalobah while Chelsea kept a white leaf, but that was the reason why the brilliant volley of Caicedo was prohibited because it was slightly offside.
Marc Cucurella 7
A generally reliable display, from top to bottom of the left side. Make sure he had the right boots after his horror show last time against the Spurs.
Caicedo 7
Took an early blow but fought and marked a brilliant volley, only so that it was excluded by Var. Perhaps lucky to have received the fault for Sarr’s refused goal.
Enzo Fernandez 7.5
Was comfortable in possession and timed his race for perfection for the opening goal with a ball head. The match winner.
Pedro Neto 6
Like Jadon Sancho, had decent moments with the ball but must offer more in the last third.
Chelsea Caicedo months have been excluded from an amazing goal for offside after a long Var review
Fernandez’s head in the 50th minute was his fifth goal of the campaign campaign
Cole Palmer 8
Back from the injury and looked refreshed, constantly rising on the ball and placing a threat. I also played a nice ball to get the assistance for Fernandez’s goal and was a separate class.
Jadon Sancho 6
Enzo MARESCA said he needed more invals of goals and that he was refused by a brilliant vicario stop. Has struggled to take the upper hand on Spence and was replaced for Noni Madueke.
Nicolas Jackson 6.5
Another player with an injury return and he intimidated the defenders of the Spurs throughout, but lacked composure in front of the goal, missing an early and then flamboyant chance.
Substitutes
Noni Madueke 6
Returned from the injury and replaced Sancho in the 68th minute.
Reece James N / A
For Jackson in the 82nd minute.
Tosin Adarabioyo n / a
Replaced palmer in an additional time.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall N / A
Came for Fernandez in injury.
Jadon Sancho almost scored in the first half, but for an amazing stop by Guglielmo Vicario
Nicolas Jackson (left) gave an animated performance in attack after his return from injury
Tottenham (4-3-3)
Guglielmo Vicario 6
Had a very fragile start, with a dubious distribution but made good stops to keep the spurs in the game. Could do nothing to prevent the purpose of Fernandez.
Djed Spence 6.5
Was very impressive on the right side and made it difficult for Sancho to have a real influence on the game. A rare positive for spurs.
Cristian Romero 5.5
Had trouble with the highline initially and was reserved for pushing Colwill in the first half, which sparked a scrum between the two sets of players. Improved in the second half.
Micky Van de Fr 5.5
Returned from an injury and was instantly involved, his customs clearance attempt leaving Jackson and overcoming in the position. In No Man’s Land for the goal of Chelsea.
Destiny Udogie 5
Very sloppy and failed to follow Fernandez’s race for the goal. Failure of the link of the whole with his son on the left flank. A bad evening for the 22 year old
Rodrigo Bentancur 6
Another who fought well defensively but who barely offered anything in the future, with the Chelsea midfielder so much more coherent.
Lucas Bergvall 6
Fought but did not really have his say on the contest and was replaced for Pope Sarr just after the hour bar.
Cristian Romero had trouble with Tottenham Highline at the start but improved in the second half
Spurs midfielder Lucas Bergvall failed to have a real word on the competition at Stamford Bridge
James Maddison 5.5
Back in the starting eleven and part of a midfielder of the Spurs who simply could not face the relentless pressure of Chelsea. We should probably have been removed instead of Bergvall.
Wilson Odobert 5.5
A little performance nothing and replaced by Brennan Johnson in the 64th minute, who asked many more questions to Chelsea.
Son Heung-Min 6
Back in the starting eleven and largely silent until its gold possibility, when it was refused by a brilliant stop in Sanchez.
Dominic Solanke 6
Just the 21 touch in 90 minutes, but in all justice, he had a minimal service all evening.
Substitutes
Brennan Johnson 6.5
Replaced Odobert in the 64th minute.
Pope Matar Sarr 6
Came for Bergvall and so unlucky not to get the Levelleur.
His heung-min came to the Englishman near a leveler but was refused by a Smart Sanchez backup
It was another quiet evening for the playmaker of Spurs James Maddison, who had no impact on the game
Pedro Porro N / A
Came in the 88th minute for Van de Ven.
Mathys such n / a
Replaced Maddison in the 88th minute.
