Chelsea made a big step to get football in the Champions League next season after Marc Cucurella’s goal won a 1-0 victory against Manchester United.
The visitors seemed to have amazed Stamford Bridge in the first half, but saw an effort by Harry Maguire excluded for offside.
Chelsea saw an overturned penalty in the second half and the frustrations increased as the high selection of Ruben Amorim before the Europa League final sought to bear fruit.
The Enzo Maresca team finally pierced in the 71st minute, while an intelligent turn and a crossing of Reece James found Cucurella to direct the blues in front.
The narrow victory maintains Chelsea in the scene of the Champions League and they will get a return to the Europe Elite Club competition if they beat Nottingham Forest on the last day of the season.

Did not show much confidence with the ball at his feet. Did not need to stop in the first half, but he prevented Amad’s efforts – which was the only shot of the UTD man on Target – in the second period.

Back in the starting eleven and almost marked a Belter when his first half strike hit the post. Had a little fear of injury before half-time, but continued, then delivered a superb cross for the goal.
Tosin Adarabioyo (6.5)
Another Chelsea player in the side and was impressive alongside Colwill because they kept a crucial white sheet.
Levi Colwill (6.5)
Alongside Adarabioyo, made sure that Chelsea was solid defensively, their highline coming to the rescue of the refused objective of Harry Maguire.
Marc Cucurella (8)
Full of tenacity and fought well against Amad before scoring the crucial goal, with a head of which most of the attackers would be proud. The ability to influence games and Spanish was again.

I had a trembling start but grew up in the game, but it will be disappointed that United has not kept a white sheet.

Unlucky to be marginally offside when he finished wonderfully to score. Like Lindelof, put a decent defensive change, but United was defeated by a moment of quality.

I cannot blame your efforts and fight well as part of a back to three, but looks like the shadow of the player that he was in the past. Replaced by Ayden Heaven by nine minutes to go.

Houé each time he touched the ball and lacked a glorious opportunity to silence the fans when he fired widely after the break. Removed for Alejandro Garnacho in the 70th minute.

So exciting to look at and has such a threat when he has the ball, but apart from forcing Robert Sanchez to make a comfortable stop, did not test the Chelsea goalkeeper.

Note that among all the Premier League players, only Mohamed Salah has more goals and help in all competitions. I played a superb Maguire ball for the purpose refused before being reserved. Removed with nine minutes to go.
