This is the moment a brazen tipper threw a washing machine into a bush in broad daylight as local authorities fined him £1,000.

CCTV footage showed the man dragging the washing machine along a path in mid-afternoon, before attempting to push it into a bush.

He walks away, only to return with a part that he tries to put back on the device before giving up and throwing it at it.

Telford & Wrekin Council said the leak occurred in March at a hotspot in Leegomery.

They said the man looked around several times to make sure he hadn’t been seen.

The council tracked down the culprit and fined him £1,000, which was paid.

Telford & Wrekin Council said the leak occurred in March at a hotspot in Leegomery.

A council spokesperson said: “The individual who threw away this washing machine now has £1,000 out of his pocket, which he could have saved if he had done the right thing and disposed of it correctly .

“They could have taken it to one of our household recycling centers which are free to use or book a free or discounted bulky waste collection for eligible residents.

“Our officers travel across the borough every day to investigate those responsible for waste dumping, so we can hold them accountable for their actions.

“There is never any excuse for fly-tipping and we know it’s an issue residents want tackled and that’s why we will continue to make it a top priority.”
