Just days after Travis Kelce cryptically hinted that new Taylor Swift music was on the way, the “End Game” star perfected the art of the sartorial Easter egg by debuting a Reputation-New York coded look. Swifties were eagerly awaiting a Taylor’s version re-recording of Reputationand the “Don’t Blame Me” singer was happy to add fuel to the fire by stepping out Friday night in a surprisingly bold black chain peacoat with a matching mini skirt. Ahead of Swift’s confirmed appearance at Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs game on Jan. 18, the star brought a punk twist to her signature All-American style for dinner with her parents and longtime friend Ashley Avignone.
Swift made her dinner at Nobu downtown a family affair on Jan. 17, catching up with her parents Andrea and Scott Swift as well as the stylist before her planned trip to Kansas City. While his latest evening appearance with Kelce seemed to have been inspired by his studio album Midnights— thanks to a dreamy crystal-encrusted black Simkai coat paired with a multi-watt crystal-fringed Stella McCartney Falabella tote — Swift seemed firmly in her Reputation era as she showed off a black AREA pea coat with wide lapels and chain detailing on the front, paired with a mini skirt with the same hardware.
From her black manicure to patterned tights, Swift leaned into a bolder aesthetic with her accessories. She paired slouchy black over-the-knee Chloé boots with a black Jimmy Choo handbag with a chain strap, gold Chanel logo earrings and her signature red lip. A sharp black liquid cat eye, voluminous blowout and heavy bangs slightly parted to the side completed her look.
Kelce previously confirmed that Swift would make an appearance as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Texans on Sunday. “Oh yeah. You know that, baby,” Kelce responded when host Pat McAfee subtly hinted at Taylor’s presence. “It’s playoff football, man.”
The athlete also shared that Swift has been busy working on new music, coyly sharing that “there might be a few” new songs on the way when McAfee pressed him.
However, while he previously named “So High School” and “The Alchemy” — songs said to be about his relationship with Swift — as some of his favorites, Kelce explained that he supports whatever she decides to do. write next.
