On Thursday, Openai announced the addition of purchase features to Chatgpt search. The new feature allows users to search for products and buy them via merchant websites after being redirected from the Chatgpt interface. The placement of the products is not sponsored and the update affects all users, which they have signed an account.
Adam Fry, leader of the Chatgpt research product in Openai, has shown that the Sister Sister of Ars Technica has won the operation of the new purchasing system during a demonstration. Users looking for products such as espresso machines or office chairs receive recommendations according to their declared preferences, their stored memories and their product opinions on the web.
According to Wired, the Chatgpt shopping experience looks like Google Shopping. When users click on a product image, the interface displays several retailers like Amazon and Walmart on the right side of the screen, with buttons to finish purchases. OPENAI is currently experimenting with categories that include electronics, fashion, home products and beauty products.
Critics of products presented in Chatgpt come from various online sources, including publishers and user forums like Reddit. Users can instruct Chatgpt to prioritize the sources to be used when creating product recommendations.

Unlike the approach based on Google algorithm to product recommendations, Chatgpt would try to understand product opinions and user preferences in a more conversational way. If someone mentions, he prefers black clothing of specific retailers in a cat, the system integrates these preferences in future purchase recommendations.
