Charlotte Tilbury Muse Michaela Jaé Rodriguez Loves This Lippie

The New Jersey-born actress says she draws inspiration from Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Iman. “So many women have influenced me in the beauty world,” she says. “You can’t help but admire them and aspire to be like them, especially women like Naomi and Iman. They are strong, iconic black women who had to fight.”

As Tilbury’s muse, Rodriguez takes her self-care rituals very seriously, especially when it comes to her skin. “I’m very, very insistent on skincare in the morning and evening,” she explains, adding that she sometimes wakes up at 5 a.m. to do them.

Rodriguez says she starts with steam to clear her pores, then cleanses and exfoliates. She then uses Charlotte Tilbury products on her skin, including Collagen Superfusion Facial Oil, Charlotte’s Magic Serum Crystal Elixir and Charlotte’s Magic Cream.

“It’s the oil that saturates it. It penetrates deep into your skin,” she says. “Then you have the serums that smooth out your pores, and then the moisturizer that helps set everything.”

Rodriguez repeats the same process at night, but replaces her daytime moisturizer with Charlotte Tilbury Magic Night Cream. “You can put it on at night, you’ll wake up in the morning and you’ll be refreshed. You actually will,” she says.

“It’s like the perfect amount of chocolate,” she says of the creamy, velvety-finish lip liner. “Like it’s not too dark, it’s not too light, it’s right in the middle. And it goes with each of her lip colors.”
