Charlie Woods has his signature victory.
On Wednesday, the 16 -year -old Woods won the AJGA Taylormade Invitational Ajga team at the Streamsong Resort course in Bowling Green, Florida. The event is among the best AJGA tournaments, the country’s first junior circuit, and presented the best classified junior miles and four of the first five classified juniors in the country – and 60 of the best.
Woods, a recruit of 2027 which can start talking to university coaches on June 15, made the headlines with a first 2 70 which included only three per. He followed with a 7-mine of 65 before closing in 66 to win by three shots on Luke Colton, Phillip Dunham and Willie Gordon. Woods entered the day dragging Colton, a Vandy Commitation, with a gunshot.
Classified n ° 606 in the AJGA ranking entering the week, Woods should jump considerably, up to n ° 14, by DRVN.GOLF.
Woods had won several small tournaments, including his American amateur qualifier last summer, and was in competition on a sponsor invitation this week. But Woods’ victory will now free up it in the rest of the AJGA invitations as well as a probable place in the team is for the Wyndham Cup, the annual Ryder Cup style event of the AJGA. This should also put him into consideration to be an AJGA All-American at the end of the year.
