Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas React to ‘DWTS’ Win

Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas are ‘thrilled’ with their ‘Dancing With the Stars’ win.
Page Six caught up with the dancing duo moments after they were announced as the new mirrorball champions in Monday’s Season 31 finale.
“It was crazy, so amazing,” D’Amelio, 18, told us in the ballroom, with his shiny new trophy in hand. “It all happened so fast that I don’t even know how to feel yet.”
For their latest dance number — a freestyle to Pinar Toprak’s “Us Again” — the TikTok star and Ballas, 36, opted to go with minimal sets and focus on choreography.
Obviously, their strategy worked as they beat their competitors Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy, Wayne Brady and Witney Carson and Shangela and Gleb Savchenko.
“It’s funny, I have a folder in my phone of music that I’d like to create something in. I haven’t done the show for a long time and I had a little connection to that song,” Ballas explained. , who returned as a pro this year for the first time since Season 25.
“It’s from a Disney short called ‘Us Again.’ And I was like, ‘If I ever go back to the show, use that song.’ So I went back and listened to it, and when I listened to it, I could see it from beginning to end.
Ballas told Page Six that he feels like it’s the perfect last song for him and D’Amelio as they’ve “become like family” over the past few months.
” I had a good time. I think every week I learned something new,” D’Amelio said as she reflected on her journey and what she learned the most about herself doing the show.
“Real dance moves to learn to play and just learn to repeat. There are so many different things we worked on that I just couldn’t limit myself to one or even a few things.

In addition to all the fans who voted for her on Monday night, D’Amelio had plenty of support in the live ballroom.
Boyfriend Landon Barker sat front row with the dancer’s sister, Dixie D’Amelio, and her father, Marc D’Amelio, while mum Heidi D’Amelio – who competed with Artem Chigvintsev – returned to dance for the starry finale.
“I’m incredibly proud of her. I miss her so much and I’m thrilled to be closer to her,” Dixie, 21, told Page Six after Charli’s win. “She did so amazing. She worked so hard and I’m so proud of her.
Marc also chimed in, telling us he was “so happy” to see his youngest daughter dancing again and pursuing her passion.
“She grew up dancing. It’s in his heart, it’s in his blood. It’s so important to her,” he said, referring to Charli’s admission that she found herself falling in love with the hobby amid criticism from TikTok fame.
“For her to come back in there, on this stage and win it, it’s incredible for her.”
