Chance the Rapper’s wife, Kirsten Corley, announced on Instagram Wednesday that they have decided to divorce after five years of marriage.
“After a period of separation, we have both made the decision to separate,” the mother of two, 30, wrote in her Stories. “We have made this decision amicably and with gratitude for our time together.”
Corley, who shares daughters Kensli, 8, and Marli, 4, with the “No Problem” rapper, said they are “blessed” to have their children, whom they “will continue to raise together.”
“We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we go through this transition. Thank you,” she concluded.
Corley’s divorce announcement comes almost a year to the day Chance – born Chancellor Bennett – was seen on video dancing “inappropriately” with another woman while attending Carnival 2023 in Jamaica.
In the clip, model Mela Millz — who wore traditional Carnival attire — was seen crushing the shirtless “No Brainer” emcee, also 30, as he leaned back and her hit the buttocks.
The video sparked mixed reactions online, with some social media users accusing Chance of cheating on his wife, while others claimed he was just dancing and enjoying his 30th birthday.
After the dance video went viral, Corley shared a cryptic quote on Instagram from Maya Angelou’s essay “Home,” which explains that most people never mature.

“Most people don’t grow up. It s too difficult. What happens is most people get older. This is the truth,” the late poet wrote.
“They honor their credit cards, they find parking spaces, they have the nerve to have kids, but they don’t grow up. Not really. They are getting old.
Angelou’s passage continues: “But growing costs the earth, Earth. This means you take responsibility for the time you take, the space you occupy. This is serious business.
Corley captioned the post: “I hope one day we all choose to grow up.”
Despite the drama, a rep for the couple told TMZ that they are “all doing well.”
“Everyone has their moments, but they’re all good,” the rep told the outlet last April.
Chance and Corley legally married in 2018 before having a star-studded wedding ceremony the following year.
The couple welcomed their first daughter, Kensli, in September 2015 and their second daughter, Marli, in August 2019.
