Harry Cobden won Plum’s journey on Palladium in the triumph of JCB after James Bowen lost his call against a whip suspension.
Bowen faced a disciplinary panel on Thursday and tried to persuade them that his ninth strike on Hope Hope, that he had gone to victory in Hereford, was for security reasons.
If the panel had accepted Bowen’s argument, its ban would have been reduced by seven days to four – and, above all, the suspensions of four days or less are not served on the days when the first year races are planned, it would therefore have been free to go up to the Cheltenham Festival.

It’s a hard blow for James Bowen who is a key member of the Seven Barrows team
But Cobden is now joining forces with Palladium a week today and the Jockey champion was seven wheelbarrows at school, the four -year -old foal.
Coach Nicky Henderson said: “It’s a terrible shame for James, but the plan is that Harry goes up the palladium. It’s great to have it.
