Censorship-happy executives used tools to suppress Breitbart news

The latest episode of Twitter Files reveals that the censorship-loving leftists who ran the show before Elon Musk took over the platform were using tech tools to remove content posted by Breitbart News after adding a ‘bot’ to the official Breitbart News Twitter account. As journalist Matt Taibbi explains, “the bot eventually becomes an automated tool that invisibly monitors both Trump and, apparently, Breitbart.”
The third part of the Twitter Files, posted by journalist Matt Taibbi on Friday evening, focused on the company’s unprecedented decision to blacklist former President Donald Trump’s account on January 8, 2021.

The first installment of the Twitter Files on Trump’s suspension, which is expected to be followed by two additional installments, focused on Twitter’s censorship tactics in the months leading up to January 6, 2021.
As Breitbart News reported:
In his Twitter feed, Taibbi pointed out that the “intellectual framework” to ban Trump’s account was already set before Jan. 6, suggesting that the Capitol riots were simply their excuse to finally do what they had always wanted. TO DO.
Taibbi revealed that, as part of its “wide range of visible and invisible tools to curb Trump’s engagement”, Twitter moderators added a “bot” to a Breitbart News video that Trump tweeted that showed him speaking of the need to “uproot” alleged electoral fraud.
48. The significance is that this shows that Twitter, in 2020 at least, was deploying a vast array of visible and invisible tools to curb Trump’s engagement, well before D6. The ban will come after the exhaustion of other avenues

Like Taibbi reported:
In Twitter docs, executives often refer to “bots”, e.g. “let’s put a bot on this”. A bot is any automated heuristic moderation rule. It could be anything: anytime someone in Brazil uses “green” and “blob” in the same sentence, action can be taken.
In addition to adding the deletion tool to Trump’s tweet, Twitter reportedly added a “bot” for Breitbart News.
“In this case, it appears the moderators added a bot for a claim Trump made about Breitbart. The bot eventually becomes an automated tool invisibly monitoring both Trump and, apparently, Breitbart (“will add a media ID to the bot”). Trump by J6 was quickly covered in bots,” Taibbi said. tweeted as well as a screenshot of internal communications from Twitter staff regarding Trump’s message.

“Hey team, I’m going to add a fraud claim tag to this. Fraud claim about 40 seconds of video,” an unknown Twitter employee wrote with a link to the Trump tweet in question.
“Yeah,” replied Twitter’s former head of trust and safety Yoel Roth, apparently endorsing the decision to delete Trump’s tweet.
Another unknown Twitter employee then announced that he would “also add a media ID to the bot.”
