Céline Dion shared a rare photo with her three sons on the anniversary of the death of their father René Angélil.
“René, we can’t believe you’ve been gone for nine years already. Not a day goes by that we don’t feel your presence, RC, Eddy, Nelson and I,” the singer wrote via Instagram on Tuesday.
“You were my greatest champion, my partner and the one who always saw the best in me. I honor you and we miss you forever my love…. We love you.”
Dion, 56, snuggled up with René-Charles, 23, and twins Eddy and Nelson, 14, on an outdoor sofa while uploading to social media.
The Grammy winner wore a cream turtleneck and matching sweats, while her kids coordinated beige and white ensembles.
Dion lost her husband to throat cancer in January 2016.
The performer had been married to the talent manager since December 1994, the couple having started their family in January 2001, when René-Charles was born.
Their twins arrived in October 2010 after six IVF cycles and a miscarriage.
After Angélil died, his eldest child gave a eulogy at his funeral and said he had “enough good memories” left to share with his siblings.
“As they grow up, without you there, I will make sure to pass on to them what I learned from you,” the then-teenager said. “You are a difficult group to follow, but with your help everything will be fine. Dad, I promise you that we will all live up to your standards.
Even though René-Charles is following in his parents’ footsteps and has released music on Soundcloud, Dion primarily keeps his children out of the spotlight.
In May 2024, however, she made headlines when she posted a photo of Eddy and Nelson with Mick Jagger.
Dion herself retreated from the limelight while battling stiff person syndrome, pausing her Las Vegas residency in 2021.
She wowed with her comeback performance at the Paris Olympics in July 2024.
Dion returned to the stage at an Elie Saab fashion show four months later.
