CLEVELAND (AP) — Cavaliers star guard Donovan Mitchell is out for Game 4 on Monday night (7 ET, TNT) against the Boston Celtics, the team announced. Mitchell strained his left calf in the final minutes of Cleveland’s loss Saturday.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski was first to report Mitchell’s status in Game 4.

Mitchell, who has been dealing with soreness in his left knee for months, was injured in the fourth quarter of the season. Boston wins 106-93 in Game 3.

He received treatment on the bench during a timeout, but was clearly slowed down during the game. With the Celtics leading by 13 points and closing out the victory, Mitchell left the court in the final two minutes and went to the locker room.

Mitchell scored 33 points as the Celtics took a 2-1 series lead. The 27-year-old, who is in his second playoff series with Cleveland, is averaging 31.7 points in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The five-time All-Star has averaged 36.8 points in his last five games. He scored 50 in a Game 6 loss to Orlando in the first round.

Mitchell has only played in 55 games this season after being slowed by a left knee injury. He missed 16 of Cleveland’s final 24 regular-season games.

The Cavs are playing without starting center Jarrett Allen, who has missed six straight games with a rib injury. Allen hasn’t been able to play since he was injured in Cleveland’s first round game against the Magic.

Top-seeded Boston remains without center Kristaps Porzingis, who has missed the last four games with a calf injury.
