Cassie Ventura published a statement on Friday following her graphic testimony in the federal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs this week.
The singer is a key witness in the criminal trafficking trial and Combs racketeering and spent four days on the stand of witnesses to testify the abuses she says that she had endured during their 11 -year relationship.
Ventura’s lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, shared a statement on behalf of the singer and another in the name of her husband, Alex Fine.
“This week was extremely difficult, but also remarkably stimulating and healing for me,” said Ventura’s declaration, according to the Associated Press. “I hope my testimony has given strength and a voice to other survivors, and can help others who have suffered from speaking and healing abuses and fear.”
It continued: “For me, the more I heal, the more I remember. The more I remember, the more I will never forget. I want to thank my family and my defenders for their unshakable support, and I am grateful for all the kindness and the encouragement that I received.”
Ventura, who is eight months pregnant with her third child with a fine, ended her declaration by asking for private life for herself and her family.
“I am happy to put this chapter of my life to rest. While I start to focus on the conclusion of my pregnancy, I ask for private life for me and for my growing family.”
In court, Ventura discussed in graphic terms the abuses she said that she suffered during her relationship with Combs. As Business Insider reported, she melted in tears while speaking of sex marathons fueled by drugs that Combs called “Freak Offs”.
During her testimony, Ventura told court that the “Freak offs” had made him feel “humiliated” and “quite horrible” on herself, but that she had taken part for love for Combs and because she wanted to make him happy.

In his declaration, Fine, which was present in the courtroom to support Ventura, expressed his pride towards his wife and said that the couple wanted to put the trial behind them.
“In the past five days, the world has been able to attend the strength and bravery of my wife, freeing himself from his past. There have been online speculations surrounding what it must feel to sit there and listen to my wife’s testimony,” he read.

“I felt so many things sitting there. I felt immense pride and an overwhelming love for Cass. I felt a deep anger that she was subjected to sitting in front of a person who tried to break it,” he added.
“This horrible chapter is forever put behind us, and we will not make additional statements,” concluded the declaration of Fine.
