Amy Schneider’s historic 40-fight winning streak on “Jeopardy!” ended Wednesday when she lost to Chicago media librarian Rhone Talsma. A day later, Talsma was ousted by Coloradan Carrie Cadwallader, who took home $7,500 on Thursday’s edition.

Cadwallader held a nearly $4,000 lead heading into Final Jeopardy, but none of the three contestants were able to answer the question correctly. It was: “In 1793 he left Dublin for the United States, saying, ‘I expect to make a fortune’ with George Washington, and he did.” The answer was Gilbert Stuart, an American painter.

Nonetheless, Cadwallader held on for the win.

Cadwallader, 45, is a native of Eaton who now lives in Aurora and works for Charles Schwab. She went to Metro State University in Denver, according to her LinkedIn page.

Cadwallader said in a Facebook post that she had been trying for years to get on the show.
