- The new Netflix documentary lifts the cover of controversial Spanish trips to Party Island
- His team tried to convince him not to go there, calling “selfish”
- Alcaraz admits: “I spend a lot of days enjoying life. Maybe more than I should ‘
In a new documentary, Carlos Alcaraz opens her hard party nights in Ibiza a few weeks before winning Wimbledon.
After an overwhelming defeat in the semi-finals of the French Open in 2023 in Novak Djokovic, when Alcaraz was assailed by Cramps, he made a three-day trip to Ibiza.
And in the series in three parts of Netflix: Carlos Alcaraz, in my way, he said: “I had a friend who had a few days off, going to Ibiza with other friends.”
The television show reveals that his team was far from impressed by the idea. His agent Albert Molina says: “I tried to explain to him that it may not be the best idea to go to Ibiza for three or four days on vacation when he had the following week, then Wimbledon.”
“I ended up going and they know what I’m going to do there,” explains Alcaraz. “In Ibiza, I’m not going to lie, it’s about partying and going out.
“I went there to reject (literally,” burst “), I don’t know if it’s the best way to say it but I went there to go out.

The tennis star told her amazed coaches “You know what I’m going to do there” (photo with the footballers Lisandro Martinez, on the right, and Sergio Reguillon, second on the left)

But he attributes the party with his Wimbledon titles in 2023 and 2024
“I really enjoyed it because I knew that I could not have three days like that yet.
“When I returned, I won Queen’s and Wimbledon. I am not saying that I won because of the party, but these days were good for me. And I think if things are fine, you have to continue. I had to start again this year!
And so in 2024, he returned to the Island of Party Spain – and once again his team tried to dissuade him. “He can party if he wants, he can run away. But do not do it before preparing for a big slam, ”explains physical coach Alberto Lledo.
This second game trip left him to defend the title of his queen, and he was eliminated by Jack Draper.
Juanjo Moreno, his fitness coach, says: “I remember watching Carlos and say:” It’s not the time. You are selfish in the present with your future me ”.
Alcaraz replies: “They always want to protect me, but I get older, I’m starting to make my own decisions and that’s what I want.”
This is part of a fascinating image that the documentary paints the tension between Alcaraz’s desire to cling to certain shreds of a normal life of 21 years and attempts by his team to convince him of the sacrifices necessary to achieve his goal of becoming the greatest player of all time ”.

Alcaraz revealed his new Netflix documentary, released on Wednesday
He talks about the almost impossible levels of dedication fixed by the three large ones of Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and – the figure that is the largest for Alcaraz – Rafael Nadal.
His coach Juan Carlos Ferrero says that you have to become a “slave” of sport and, in the most surprising line of the documentary, he expresses the doubt of knowing if Alcaraz has the dedication required.
“He has a different way of understanding work and sacrifice,” he said, comparing his player to Djokovic. “It’s so different that it makes me ask me if he can really be the best in history.”
Alcaraz admits: “I don’t take as much care of myself, I spend a lot of days enjoying life. Maybe more than I should. But I want to do it in my own way.
