Carl Radke admitted to making a derogatory statement to Lindsay Hubbard after last week’s episode Summer house.

After fans saw the ex-couple continue to engage in spat after spat, Carl, 39, apologized for the hurtful statement he made to his then-fiancée. Gabby Prescod33, took aim at his “astronomical” comment, and Lindsay, 37, took aim at his work ethic after returning to Loverboy.

“I can’t say ‘gentle’ to a woman. According to Lindsay, that’s a derogatory thing to say to a woman,” Carl began on the May 23 episode. Summer house: after the show. “I didn’t know that and I apologize for saying that. It’s like saying to a man, “Be more like a man.” If you ask a woman to be a little softer when discussing your career opportunities, I guess that’s derogatory. That’s what she told me. And if so, I’m sorry. Like, I didn’t mean to be so derogatory.

According to Carl, he simply wanted Lindsay to give him something a little different than what she was offering him, which, at the time, represented a concern for their potential family’s financial future.

“I think it’s good that I expressed that, but unfortunately I expressed it using the wrong words,” he explained. “I’ve never used a word in my entire life like that and then faced anger when I’m speaking from a genuine place like, ‘Hey, I need a little something different here.’ And for this to completely backfire on me, in my opinion, it’s actually classic Lindsay, to turn it around.

“I don’t think many other women would have reacted the same way,” replied Kyle Cooke44.

Still, Carl added: “I understand that this seems derogatory to him. I will never use that word again, I learned the hard way.

As for Lindsay, she explained that telling her, or any woman, to soften up was the same as telling Carl, or any other man, to “be more of a man.”

“For me, it gives me goosebumps,” Gabby admitted. “Apart from these circumstances, to say that a woman must be gentler is for me astronomical. Screw you. You can’t tell me how I can live in this world where I already have to fight for my fucking life, and you can walk. So absolutely not. »

While Lindsay did her best to encourage Carl to do something for himself during the season, filmed last summer, she noted that “he only does what’s easiest in front of his face.”

At another time of Summer house: after the showCarl and the cast discussed his return to Loverboy.

“It’s great,” Carl admitted.

Kyle agreed, saying Carl’s return had “been great” before explaining why he didn’t immediately bombard him with tons of responsibility.

“It’s not like I’m like, ‘All right, Carl, full-time employee. Here are all your responsibilities. I expect you to work 60 hours a week, and our friendship is going to be on the back burner, and it’s business, business, business. We’re toning down on it,” he shared. “We learned the hard way that when you’re best friends, it’s not easy to work together. I also try to be sensitive and realistic. I know he has other passions and interests and stuff like that, so we just feel that way.

Because Carl had been vocal about sobriety and mental health over the past few months, he appreciated Kyle giving him space to continue pursuing other projects.

“Having him recognize that when we were talking about this opportunity was really powerful,” he said. “As the Loverboy brand now has alcohol-free options, it’s also part of my personal story, so now when I speak and attend events it might be mental health related, but I have this amazing alcohol-free product. It’s great. We’re doing something pretty unique and… it’s still evolving and growing, a little bit better than before.

As Carl expressed his excitement, Lindsay admitted that when it came to his Loverboy return, “I don’t care.”

“It’s the easiest option. “That’s what Carl does, whatever is in front of his face, and it makes me question his relationship with me, honestly, because I think I was just being easy and in front of his face,” a- she explained. “I was just the easy option. Easy as a relationship. Easy as the best friend. Easy for all that. I was the easy option because I was in front of his face.

“He doesn’t work hard,” she added.
