CHICAGO (CBS) – After pointing a gun to his side, the next thing Greg Cihak remembers is handing over his keys as crooks hijack him right outside his 30-year-old home in Irving Park.
He told CBS 2’s Jermont Terry that he never imagined he would be at gunpoint near his front door.

“Road rage stuff you hear about Edens, but not car theft, no,” Cihak said.
He wasn’t the only target.
The crew who stole Cihak’s SUV are said to be the same who picked up another SUV at 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in Albany Park. The two car hijackings occurred within eight minutes of each other.
“He was actually very calm given the circumstances,” said a neighbor of the man from Albany Park. “It was quieter than the rest of the neighborhood.

The carjacking in the light of day leaves many to wonder if thieves thrive on fear of people.
In Cihak’s case, the police found his SUV a few miles away without any damage. Tonight is back on the block.
“I don’t know why they would do it,” Cihak said. “Just for fun I guess.”
There is nothing funny when someone points a gun at your side.
“Who expects to have a gun pointed at them in the middle of the day,” Cihak said. “It shouldn’t happen)
Yet it has been, and it continues to happen across town.

Police are investigating and no suspects are in custody.
