Carey Mulligan (Maestro) is in negotiations to join Greta Gerwig Narnia Film for Netflix, based on the best -selling fantastic novels in CS Lewis, sources have confirmed on the deadline.
Netflix refused to comment.
Mulligan will play Digory’s mother, one of the film’s young protagonists. As announced previously, others in the cast will include Daniel Craig as Digory’s uncle, Meryl Streep like Lion Aslan the Great and Emma Mackey as White Witch.
The new Narnia would be an adaptation of The Magician’s nephewThe sixth novel in the series, which examines the origins of Narnia. The story looks at Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer discover this magical world by the magic of Digory’s uncle. Production is expected to start next year.
Netflix revealed in 2018 that he would develop new series projects and films based on Lewis’ beloved The Chronicles of Narnia Series, bringing Gerwig on board to write and make the first film in 2020. The film is planned for an exclusive world race of two weeks for Thanksgiving 2026 before its beginnings on the streamer.
Mulligan was recently the Oscar candidate three times in the Comedy of Sundance acclaimed by Critics Wallis Island Ballad From director James Griffiths, who focuses on the United States in March.
