Captain of Luton Town, Tom Lockyer, cast up a new light on the loss of the six -month -old injuries which delayed his return to the field after suffering a cardiac arrest in December 2023.

Lockyer’s heart stopped for more than two and a half minutes in a Premier League match in Bournemouth before being restarted by the doctors. Seven months earlier, he also collapsed in Wembley in the championship final.

Lockyer was ready to play his first game for the Luton under -21 team last December to damage his ankle ligaments. He was then forced to undergo two operations, the second carried out because the first had failed to correct the problem.

Lockyer previously opened his conscience that he began his decreasing years of his career, but promised to give everything to return and represent Luton again.

He told BBC Sport Wales: “Time is not on my side, when you start to push 30, you start to think that the clock counts, can it be achieved?

“But I am a positive person, I would not waste everyone’s time if I didn’t think it was possible. I’m going to give my best blow, but what will be.

Reflecting on his cardiac arrest while on Good Morning Britain of ITV, Lockyer remembers alive that he could die before the doctors saved his life.
