After completing their regular seasonal calendar against Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington’s capital have been preparing before starting their first round series against Montreal Canadians.
Friday, the capitals announced that they will hold three training sessions before match 1 on Monday, including a rare practice in Capital One Arena on Saturday. This skate will be closed to the public, but fans will be welcome to watch the MEDSTAR Capitals Icelex team for Sunday training and the skate on Monday, both at 10:30 am.
The team did not practice in Capital One Arena from the training camp, when head coach Spencer Carbery opted for a change of decor for a week-long break between the last pre-season match of the team and the opening evening.
Although they were the first team to get a place in the playoffs this season, the capital was the last to locked an opponent in the playoffs, the Canadians guaranteeing the last joker point on Wednesday evening. Montreal narrowly avoided a last -minute upheaval of the Columbus Blue Jackets with a home victory in the 82 match against the Hurricanes of Caroline.
Capitals and Canadians will launch their series at Capital One Arena on Monday evening at 7 p.m.
