Capital One continues to experience an interruption in its service Friday, with some customers frustrated at not being able to view their deposits.
As of 8:04 a.m. Eastern, nearly 3,400 outages were reported, according to Downdetector. This is an increase from the 2,100 reports reported Thursday morning. Most complaints appear to come from the eastern half of the United States, but problems have been reported as far west as Arizona and California.
The company said 90% of customer-reported issues were with deposits. Account balances accounted for 7% of reported issues, while online accounted for 3%.
Capital One said in a statement that the disruptions, which impacted the processing of some deposits, payments and transfers, began Wednesday and were caused by a technical issue with one of its service providers.
The company apologized for the inconvenience caused by the outage and said it was working closely with the supplier to resolve the issue. Capital One added that once the systems are restored, it will process all deposits and other transactions that were delayed.
But many customers remain frustrated. Complaints continue to come into the company’s @AskCapitalOne customer service account on X.
“Do you already have an ETA?” I still don’t have my direct deposit,” one X user wrote Friday morning.
“You better set realistic expectations and be honest with your customers, otherwise you will ruin your reputation and your business,” wrote another.
