Capital One is working to resolve a technical issue that caused thousands of customers to report problems with direct deposits on Thursday.
More than 2,000 people had reported problems with Capital One banking services as of Thursday morning, according to Down Detector, an online service that tracks technology outages. The problem had eased slightly by late afternoon, with just over 1,700 outage reports from Capital One users as of 4:10 p.m. Eastern.
“Some of us have bills to pay and errands to run. At least keep us informed,” one person on social media said in a message to Capital One’s customer service account on X.
“What’s going on with business checking accounts? Customer service told me everything should work in about 2 hours and it continues in 3 hours,” another person said Wednesday evening.
Capital One apologized for the issue, telling customers in a social media post that the bank is “actively working with the provider to resolve the issue and restore services.”
