Canvasser: Fantomatic Musk paying the AP voters for 2024 campaign efforts

A solicitor says that Elon Musk and the Super Pac of the billionaire never paid after promising Pennsylvania voters in cash for their efforts around the presidential campaign of 2024.

The voter of the County of Bucks, in Pennsylvania, who uses the pseudonym “John Doe” for what he said in the legal documents for his “security and security”, filed a collective appeal on Tuesday before the American district court for the eastern district of Pennsylvania.

The man says that in the trial, he is due at least $ 20,000 for the signatures he collected as part of the massive Musk push to help the candidate at the time – and now president – Donald Trump is elected to a second mandate in the White House.

In the accounting of the November 2024 elections, Musk and his America PAC proposed to pay voters registered in the Pennsylvania swing state at $ 100 for signing a petition supporting freedom of expression and firearms – and an additional $ 100 for each reference of a registered voter who signed the petition.

The offer, which initially started at $ 47, was also made to the voters registered in the other six states of the battlefield.

“The applicant and the members of the class have accepted defendants’ offers by signing or successfully referring to the registered Pennsylvania of voters to the petition in PAC America,” said the trial against Musk and its political action committee. This adds that Musk and the CAP “have not since paid for the applicant and class members in their entirety for their signatures and references”.

The trial indicates that the applicant worked as a solicitor for Musk’s America Pac before the 2024 elections and had many voters signed the petition along the way.

The solicitor alleges that even if he has been paid for his hourly rate for the work and for certain dismissals for the petition signatures he obtained, he says that he was not paid at least $ 20,000 that he is due for his references.

“This case concerns a broken promise: Elon Musk promised to the supporters that they would be paid to sign a petition and by referring the others to do the same,” man’s lawyer, Shannon Liss-Riordan told Business. “Our client relied on this promise because he believed in Elon, but unfortunately, this promise was not held. It seems that the promise was broken for many others too.”

The trial indicates that the man of Pennsylvania has repeatedly contacted the Super PAC of Musk “making several attempts to receive a full payment for his references, but in vain”.

The alleged lack of payment caused man “an important emotional and physical distress”, according to the trial.

“He relied on these payments to pay his bills and has suffered damage to his credit and his health when the payments have not arrived as planned,” according to court documents.

The trial, which lightens a breach of contract and requests a trial by jury, indicates that more than 100 other people may be due to money and that the amount in question could exceed $ 5 million.

“The applicant is in communication with many other people who have referred voters to sign the America PAC petition, who are also frustrated at not having received complete payments for their references,” said the trial.

Musk did not immediately respond to a request for comments.

America PAC’s spokesperson Andrew Romeo told Bi in a statement that the Super PAC “is committed to paying for each legitimate petition signature, which is attested by the fact that we paid tens of millions of dollars to soldiers for their hard work in support of our mission.”

“Although we do not yet know who this applicant” John Doe “is and cannot talk about their specific situation, we can say that we are also committed to eliminating fraud and having the right to retain payments to fraudsters,” said Romeo.

During the 2024 campaign, Musk also launched a gift of $ 1 million a day to encourage the registration of voters and push residents of the swing state to the polls. This decision raised legal issues.

At the time, the Ministry of Justice sent Musk a letter warning that the competition could violate the federal law and the prosecutor of the Philadelphia district filed a legal action, qualifying the petition of “illegal lottery”.

A philadelphia judge finally allowed the program to move forward, saying that he did not meet the criteria of a lottery.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, before a Supreme Court of the Supreme Court High in Wisconsin, Musk distributed $ 1 million in two voters who had signed the request of his Super Pac against the “militant judges”.
