Canons, explosives and crazy traps found inside the house of Jacumba

Sheriff’s deputies discovered firearms, homemade explosives and traps in a jacumba house on Monday and arrested a 40 -year -old man sought after, who said officials.

The deputies and members of the Swat team went to the house on the old highway 80 just south of the interstate 8 shortly before 6 am to serve a mandate while they were investigating allegations according to which the man had shot a neighbor with a pellet pistol on February 22, said Lieutenant Sheriff Jeff Ford.

The man would have attempted to hide from the deputies, hiding inside a wall of the house that Ford described as “a small alcove which had been covered with a leaf rock in order to give the impression that it was part of the normal mural”.

When the deputies found the man, he had a firearm, a pellet pistol and an imitation firearm in the wall with him, said Ford.

During research, the deputies also found several explosives made inside the house and improvised bobby traps dispersed in the courtyard.

“The explosives seemed to be homemade, but were not part of the crazy traps found around the residence,” said Ford in an email. “Crazy traps seem to be designed to pierce the foot or tires of anyone who can enter the property. Some attempts were made to mix some of the traps in the surroundings, while others were quite obvious to see in daylight but would be difficult in the dark. »»

The images provided by the investigators show rusty nail balls linked to zip and long metal screws coming out of pieces of scrap wood. The department also published photos of homemade devices wrapped in aluminum paper and the band that would have been found on the property.

The sheriff’s bomb / criminal fire unit was called to the scene to help the investigation.
