After 12 cycles of action in Saudi Arabia, there have been few debates that won the undisputed championship fight of the average super-point between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and William Scull. The action was dull, but it was clear that Alvarez won the fight and the three judges at the edge of the ring agreed, giving Alvarez an unanimous victory.
The fight was an uninteresting affair that saw Scull, which entered as IBF champion, was trying to use the lateral movement but never engaged offensively while Alvarez found it after the round to make balls.
There was no dominant tour for one or the other fighter before the conclusion of the fight. Although Alvarez does the best job, he barely preceded two official dashboards to win the unanimous score decision of 115-113, 116-112 and 119-109.
After the fight, Turki Alashikh asked Terence Crawford to enter the ring before presenting a new belt in Alvarez and introducing a new belt which, according to him, was “100% gold” before a fight provided between Alvarez and Crawford. The two men then found themselves face to face before the announcement of a date of September 12 for their fight for the alleging stadium in Las Vegas.
“I hope that September will come another type of combat,” said Alvarez. “For me, it was a boring fight. I hate these kinds of fighters.”
The plan is now turning to the planned fight between Alvarez, now the double champion of undisputed average weights, and Crawford, a former undisputed Welters weight champion. This fight will be one of the largest of 2025 or 2026, whenever the fight is gathered.
