Mary Fowler is linked to England after leaving Australia after the two recent matildas games against South Korea – and we can now reveal that she travels with an Irish passport.
Fowler, 22, was born in Cairns, but qualified as his father Kevin de Dublin.
Daily Mail Australia understands that Fowler uses an Irish passport because they are classified stronger than the Australian version in the world.
According to the Henley Passport index, Ireland is in third place, with Australia sixth, because the old document offers an entry without visa in 119 countries.
The AS Attacker made her debut in Matildas in 2018 – and revealed that she could have played for Ireland following an approach to their football association.
