A new trend that turns the head strikes bars through America, and it probably has a major impact on the spirits market, according to the host “Bar Rescue” Jon Taffer.
Drinks infused with cannabis gain popularity as an alternative for consumers adopting an alcohol -free lifestyle, and although the effects on the market are too early to say, Taffer says there is “no question”, it shakes the industry.
“There is clearly a trend in this direction … and there is no doubt that cannabis affects the spirits industry,” said Taffer on Wednesday during an appearance on “Varney & Co.”
CBD infused drinks are a constant growth category.
In 2021, cannabidiol products generated $ 5.3 billion and by 2026 should increase to $ 16 billion, according to Statista.
This year, the cannabis market in the United States is expected to exceed $ 45 billion.
However, Taffer noted an existing obstacle, highlighting that many states do not allow the sale of alcohol and cannabis in the same environment.

Minnesota is one of the rare states which currently allows the sale of hemp drinks and low doses of THC to breweries, and in some cases, even offers options on the Tour.
California has taken a strict position on drinks containing THC.
The control of drinks from the State Department has published a notice of industry indicating that alcohol -related companies may not transport or sell hemp products.
Despite administrative formalities, some celebrities have jumped on the market, including the legend of Country Willie Nelson music.
