Cameron Diaz says she would make a ‘Mask’ sequel if Jim Carrey was ‘on board’

Cameron Diaz is ready to go green (again).

Diaz, who recently came out of a 10-year retirement after starring in Netflix’s “Back in Action,” recently revealed to Access Hollywood that she would be open to returning for a sequel to the 1994 comedy “The Mask.” as long as Jim Carrey is involved.

“If Jim is on board, I mean, I’ve been wearing these coats since day one,” she said of the possibility of reprising her role as nightclub singer Tina Carlyle. “The Mask” starred Carrey as mild-mannered bank teller Stanley Ipkis, whose life is turned upside down when he discovers a mask that possesses him with the spirit of a magical con artist.

Carrey previously told Comicbook.com that he would also be open to returning for a sequel to “The Mask,” provided the project had a strong enough storyline.

“Oh my God, you know, that must be the right idea,” said Carrey, who recently reprized his role as Doctor Robotnik in “Sonic the Hedgehog 3.”

“If someone had the right idea, I guess… It’s not really about the money,” Carrey said. “I joke about the money… But I never know. You can’t be specific about these things. I said I would like to retire, but I think I was talking more about power rest. Because as soon as a good idea comes to you, or a group of people you really enjoyed working with, etc., things tend to change.

In the same Access Hollywood interview, Diaz also expressed interest in returning for another “Charlie’s Angels” sequel alongside Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu, joking that “Back in Action” co-star Jamie Foxx could play Bosley.

“I’m going to text (Liu) now and introduce him to Jamie as Bosley.” Diaz teased.
