Caltrain hits unoccupied motorcycle in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO — A Caltrain struck a motorcycle Thursday evening in San Francisco, according to the commuter rail line.

No injuries were immediately reported.

The collision, which involved southbound train No. 412, occurred around 5:20 p.m. near Tunnel 1, Caltrain spokesman Dan Lieberman said. The train was carrying 260 passengers.

No motorcyclists were found at the scene, Lieberman said, adding that emergency personnel believed the motorcycle had been abandoned before the collision.

Trains were stopped in the area from 6:20 p.m., Lieberman said.
