“Call it a day” – Jamie Carragher tells Casemiro to QUIT Man United and claims his time at the top level is over

Casemiro has just three games left at the top level after his horror show in Manchester United’s 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.

That’s according to Jamie Carragher, who said the time had come for the Brazilian to end his illustrious career in MLS or Saudi Arabia.

Casemiro, who faced taunts that appeared to play into Soccer Aid last month, has come under renewed scrutiny at Selhurst Park.

The 32-year-old has been deployed as an emergency centre-back alongside Jonny Evans following United’s mounting injuries.

However, Casemiro’s defending was branded “atrocious” as he was seriously at fault for two of Palace’s goals in the 4-0 win.

Liverpool legend Carragher has now admitted that time is running out for the former Real Madrid star at elite level.

He told Sky Sports: “Casemiro should know tonight, as an experienced player, that he should only have three more games left at the highest level – the next two league games (Premier) and the final of the cup (FA) – then he should think that I should go to MLS or Saudi Arabia.

“I’m extremely serious – his agent, the team around him, need to tell him: this needs to stop.

“We’re looking at one of the greatest of modern times, playing in the best midfielders we’ve seen who have dominated Europe – holding him, (Toni) Kroos on one side, (Luka) Modric on the The other was one of the best midfielders.

“Could easily face the Barcelona midfielder we all loved (Sergio) Busquets, Xavi, (Andres) Iniesta.

“So he’s been absolutely brilliant.

“I’m nowhere near what this man achieved, (winning) the Champions League, playing for Brazil and Real Madrid.

“But I always remember something when I retired myself, and there’s a saying I always remember as a footballer: ‘Leave football before football leaves you’.

“Football has left him, at this high level. He needs to end this level of football and move on.”

Casemiro, branded a ‘stable Eddie’ by Graeme Souness upon his £70million arrival in 2022, has two years left to complete his contract at Old Trafford.

However, Carragher believes United must do what they can this summer to facilitate an early exit for the Brazil international.

“They should pay it and make some sort of deal.” But the level of this player should not make him suffer this.

“He’s too good a player to put in a performance like that and make fun of… Crystal Palace.

“He doesn’t play for Manchester City or Real Madrid, all out of respect for Crystal Palace.

“A man of this level should not be going through what he is going through now and he needs to put an end to this.”
