HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Calhoun Community College held an open house Wednesday for a new respiratory therapy program.
The event included a guided tour of the laboratory, a hands-on demonstration of the equipment and much more.
The program aims to address the need for respiratory therapists in north Alabama as chronic lung diseases increase.
School officials say the addition is a major step in meeting that need.
Respiratory therapy is not a huge field. We are far outnumbered by nurses, but they are incredibly needed,” said program director Christy Goodwin.
The new lab is located on the Huntsville campus off Wynn Drive.
