Caitlin Clark’s dad sneaks snacks into March Madness Final Four
He may have been at an NCAA Tournament game, but Caitlin Clark’s dad made a professional move.
Before Clark and Iowa’s game against UConn in the Final Four at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, his father, Brent, appeared to have slipped snacks into his jacket pocket.
As ESPN cameras looked at Clark’s family in the crowd, they showed Brent snacking on something and putting his hand in the front pocket of his Iowa Hawkeyes gear.
This isn’t the first time Clark’s father has made an appearance on television in the postseason.
During the opening game of Iowa’s March Madness run, Brent was seen visibly angry as Caitlin began to become irritable with officials during a victory against Holy Cross.
According to CBS Sports reporter Brad Crawford, Brent could also be heard saying, “Take her out, God,” after Caitlin committed an offensive foul during her 27-point effort that day earlier in March .
But on Friday night, women’s basketball fans praised the father for his snack game.
“Caitlin Clark’s Dad Plays Chess Not Checkers and Brings His Own Snacks to the Iowa Game.” wrote user.
“Caitlin Clark’s dad with the world’s greatest ‘parent who doesn’t want to pay stadium snack prices’ move…..” wrote another.
“Just when you think Caitlin Clark’s dad can’t build on his grandfather’s energy even more, the pregame coverage shows him fishing for snacks in a hooded anorak. Absolute legend”, another user.
While Brent was enjoying his snacks in the stands, his daughter was held in check with just six points in the first half as Iowa trailed.
