Caitlin Clark maintained its hot start for the new WNBA season on Tuesday – making history in the process – but Indiana fever fell to their first defeat of the 2025 season against Atlanta’s dream, 91-90.
Rhyne Howard made a frank throw with 9.1 seconds remaining to help the dream come out of the fever while the late Rallye of the Indiana did not succeed in a field champion of Gainbridge in Indianapolis, who had the double champion of the masters Bubba Watson and the champion of Nascar in 2021 Kyle Larson.
Indiana dragged 76-65 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, but showed an incredible mind to get back into the game. The return of the fever was triggered by two depths at three points from Clark before a free launch of Aaliyah Boston-which finished with 24 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks-with 21.7 seconds to play the team of 90-89 in the opening moments of the competition.
But the dream was able to be in front of again through Howard and Natasha Howard of the Indiana had two chances to snatch a late victory, but blocked a shot and another rebound on the edge.
Clark collected a summit of 27 points while adding five rebounds, 11 assists and two interceptions. In doing so, the second-year leader has set a record for the most than 25 points and 10 assistants in the history of the WNBA, passing the triple All-Star Sabrina Ionescu, by ESPN.
Having opened the season with a victory, the fever fell to 1-1 on the young season, but Clark then declared that the defeat would help the long-term Indiana.
“Yes, it stinks. We wanted to win this match, but it’s great for our team,” said Clark. “A little adversity – How are we going to answer?” We have a chance to go and play them (again). We can get a little redemption if we go there and play well.
“I have to give a lot of credit to my team; We have never abandoned. We found a way to come back to it. ”

The Indiana Mitchell, however, criticized the performance of the fever against the dream.
“Today, we failed miserably as a group because there were certain things fixed so that we are in force from the quarter to the fourth quarter,” said Mitchell. “And you haven’t seen what he should look like until the three and a half years of age.
“So, this resides in a way in the discipline at the moment … Consciousness, knowing the staff. Certain things that we owe to us to succeed. Our lulls were too weak. They cannot be so low. We do not have this margin of error.”
Kelsey Mitchell of Indiana collected 24 points while Atlanta was led in the evening by Brittney Griner who collected 21 points and eight rebounds. Howard added 20 points and Bonna Jones collected 19 points and 13 rebounds for the dream.
The two teams go to court again Thursday evening in the Atlanta State Farm arena.
