The former UFC heavyweight champion, Cain Velasquez, made his first move in the Californian penitentiary system after his conviction and conviction following a plea without tales for several accusations, including an attempted murder.
Velasquez received a five -year sentence following his conviction, and he is currently hosted in Wasco state prison just outside Bakersfield, California.
Wasco is used to treat, classify and assess new prisoners physically and mentally to determine a level of security for housing before being transferred to one of the main facilities of California prison such as San Quentin or Folsom State prison.
On the basis of the terms of his conviction, Velasquez is eligible for parole for the first time in March 2026, but this date could change depending on the retired UFC heavy goods vehicle to eliminate overtime for good conduct, participation in certain penitentiary programs, etc.
While Velasquez was pronounced a five -year sentence, he immediately dropped more than three years due to the time already served after spending eight months behind bars after his initial arrest when he was refused the deposit several times. When Velasquez was finally released, he was placed under house arrest and wore an ankle instructor so that the time was also removed from his sentence.
Unless something radically changes, Velasquez could potentially go home in March 2026.
Velasquez was sentenced after initiating a high -speed prosecution of 11 miles after a car containing Harry Goularte, who is accused of having attacked Velasquez’s son in a daycare belonging to his mother. Goulate faces accusations of his own ties, but he was released from the custody against the advice of the accusation.
Velasquez pulled several shots from a handgun from the car, but ultimately it was Goulate’s stepfather, Paul Bender, who ended up being shot while undergoing injuries not putting his life in danger.
Velasquez was finally arrested without incident and struck by a multitude of accusations, including an attempted murder.
The next date of hearing for Velasquez occurs on April 16 when he risks restitution for his crimes, which is a judge issued a financial sanction due to the victims of the case. The restitution may include loss of salary, medical costs, therapy and advice and even insurance franchises.
