Butter recalled due to high levels of coliform bacteria

(WFSB) – Butter sold in state grocery stores has been recalled due to high levels of coliform bacteria, the FDA announced on Wednesday.

Cabot creamery Extra Creamy Premium Butter was hit. They had a better date on September 9.

189 cases, amounting to 1,701 pounds, was recalled.

The decision also has an impact on Arkansas, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont.

The FDA has classified the recall as class III, the lowest risk category. This means that it is unlikely that it leads to serious health problems.

If you have the butter, throw it away.
